Sanctuary Prayer Warriors

Each week during our morning services, (and during Revival), two or more prayer warriors meet behind the sanctuary to pray all during the worship service.

A prayer warrior is someone who intercedes in prayer for someone, especially at a time when that person is attempting to serve the Lord and may be subject to attacks from Satan and needs more strength, more wisdom, and more armor to survive the attacks. And certainly we know that today the church and Christians everywhere are being attacked more and more by Satan and his followers as we try to serve the Lord.

Our aim as prayer warriors here at New HarmonyBaptistChurch is to pray for Brother Robbie as he preaches the word. To pray for all those who lead us to worship in song, our Praise and Worship singers and band, our choir, and special music presentations. To continue praying as each part of our service happens, and for each person that takes part. We pray for the congregation, that the Holy Spirit will take the word and apply it to each of our hearts.

This has been a real blessing to all who have volunteered.

Here are some suggestions to follow:

  1. Prepare your heart by having a time of personal prayer and meditation, remembering Psalm 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.”
  2. When you meet together behind the sanctuary as a team, pray briefly together, remembering Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
  3. After the choir goes into the sanctuary station yourselves behind each door to the choir.
  4. Pray for each part of the service, and especially pray for Bro. Robbie as he preaches the word.
  5. Pray during the invitation.
  6. If someone is saved and joins the church, come out and join in as the right hand of fellowship is given.
  7. Praise God!
